Norstead were appointed for the full M&E services fit-out of an existing basement plant-room along with distribution and connection to circuitry throughout existing parts of a live private hospital in Central London. Norstead were appointed as Principal Contractor with some building works fit-out and subdivision of the basement following plant installations.
Works included the provision of new main LV switchgear, submains, secondary heating, hot water generation plant and boosted cold water mains infrastructure within a constrained basement plantroom serving the entire existing estate with capacity built in for the remaining planned development and upgrade programme for the following 10 years.
This project was procured via a single stage competitive bidding process and the clinic appointed Norstead as Principal Contractor due to the predominantly services driven nature of the works. The scheme is a prime example of how client team and contractor can work together in solving logistical and technical problems in a very tight basement plantroom and the benefits in commissioning a Revit MEP Model that was developed into a workable solution.
